Installation is fully reversible and isolated.
What happens on install:
Forge app is registered
Storage namespace is created
No Jira data is copied
What permissions mean:
Permission | Why it exists |

Read Jira Boards | To display sprint context |
Read Issues | To show activity and suggestions |
Read Users | To map participants |
Write App Storage | To save standups & blockers |
No permission allows:
Editing Jira tickets
Changing workflows
Posting comments
If you ever see permissions requesting write access to Jira issues, do not approve them.
